Newly engaged couple having this kind of date night was definitely memorable. It was our first candlelight concert experience and will for sure not be the last. The venue was at the Arts House at the Old Parliament. Seated in front of the stage, giving us the best view, with amazing music like orchestra, surrounded by candle was 10/10. Hans Zimmer is the world class music composer of the best movies at all times. He is my fiance’s favorite 🥰 Truly, his music was unremarkable. They could sign up as a team and receive a game card, which involves them going to different stations in the building to solve puzzles. There were also ancillary activities like kids yoga and storytelling to keep the kids occupied too. Looked like a super fun event, so bring your kids! Every corner and stairs of the building really amazed me. The high ceilings, the interior design of the building itself is really phenomenal. The building was built in 1827 and was used as the parliament house until 1999. The Art House is prolly the oldest surviving building in Singapore to date. The chamber is beautiful too. Everything was perfectly conserved and completed with the original upholstery from 1954. Above photo was taken from their official website. Once inside, we were ushered to our seats. While the seats were chosen upon booking, you can actually choose your preferred seats when you’re there according to your zone. I prolly was sitting on the second highest row? Whenever I go to concerts, be it an orchestra or a normal typical concert, I’d usually choose a seat from the higher rows! Not only the sound quality is better but also you can view the entire production as a whole. Specially for the candlelight concert, hundreds of candles were lighted all around the chamber. Definitely, giving off that soothing and calm ambience. Just the perfect venue for a romantic, relaxing string-quartet music. #exploresgtogether

There are a few hundred local artists who are awarded the award . They have contributed greatly to the industry of arts. Some of them are singers, song writers, composers, directors, and many more. We hope that the culture will be preserved and more artists will be able to get this accolade in the career journey.

#thingstodo The arts house at the old parliament is a place where cultural and arts activities are being held at. The original building was not taken down, but it was preserved until now. It is one of the oldest buildings that has survived in Singapore. It was formerly home to the merchant of the northern bank. You will have to take a fifteen minute walk from the city hall train station to reach this place . You will pass by the national gallery, followed by the old parliament and the supreme court, and finally you will reach here.

#thingstodo My wife and I were enjoying the great spectacle of the Light To Night 2024. One of the stops we visited was the Arts House. The light show that was on was very entertaining. The Arts House is a venue that has hosted many concerts and exhibitions. I would love the chance to visit the interior of the building to see how grand the architecture is and also attend some arts events.
