We booked through trip . On arrival we were told that the room we booked was not available.
The hotel also insisted on charging me again for the room.
The confirmation showed a room for 3 adults.. the hotel had booked this room out to someone else.
They did eventually give us a second room as I informed the receptionist who was very rude that an adult couldn’t sleep on a z bed for two nights.
We were attending a wedding they were also extremely unhelpful to the bride to be and told her her bridal suite would not be ready until the following day as they’ve booked a photo shoot in it.
I would not recommend this hotel. The carpets are filthy and their customer services is very poor.
Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel in good location just off motorway. Easy reach of London. Plenty of places to get food on site if you don't want to venture further. The staff were the friendliest we meet in a long time and made you feel genuinely welcome. Rooms and bathrooms could do with an upgrade but clean and tidy
This is such a lovely resort. The estate is simply magnificent and the service was excellent throughout our stay.
The room (especially the toilet) was a little bit dated but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
We got to dine at the main restaurant and the food quality was excellent. Breakfast and lunch were equally impressive with plenty of options for the kids.
As for amenities, we got to use the indoor pool and spa and they were both nice and clean.
The building was surrounded by impressive gardens and golf course so you will always get a good view just looking out of the windows.
The hotel is surrounded by historic market towns which are always worth visiting.
I would definitely come back again as I enjoyed the place so much.
Absolutely stunning hotel. Undersold on its website.
Original Tudor hall with many original features which compare favourably to any that you might see in a National Trust property - especially the two incredible fireplaces. Great views towards central London from the terrace at the back.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Room was large, well furnished, and quiet (as I think would be all the hotel as in large grounds). Shame that pond was drained.
Annex at the back where the bedrooms are not very sympathetic design to the rest of the stunning hotel, and the gym could be better furnished. I think that Laura Ashley was involved in the interior design. Some reviews say that it is a bit down at it heels, but I didn't think so - more of a lived in air which made me feel more at ease. Looks of quirky design features which work well in a sort of 1960s New Avengers way, but I didn't like the fake wood pattern wallpaper in the bar as it cheapens the glorious fireplace next to it. My daughter loved sitting in one of the James Bond super villain blue chairs in the bar - she moaned that she didn't have our cat with her to complete the effect.
We booked this for not much more than the local Premier Inn that I normally stay at - but this is in completely a different league.
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful hotel.
Very clean and basic amenities. For one night, you won't need much else. Next to service station and also hotel reception has toiletries and refreshments to purchase. Sink is outside bathroom. Tea coffee and hairdryer provided. Good space for storage and clothes. Good wardrobe. However room can become stuffy at night.
We had a lovely stay at the Leonardo Hotel in Watford. The room was spotless and well-maintained, making it a comfortable and relaxing base for our trip. What really stood out was the staff — incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. They even went the extra mile by looking after our bags after we’d checked out, which gave us the freedom to explore London without any hassle. It’s those thoughtful touches that make all the difference. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!
The hotel is conveniently located near the LNER and Cambridge mainline railway station. It's about a 30-minute fast train ride from King's Cross. There's a shopping street nearby, but if you check in after 9 PM, everything will already be closed. So, it's best to purchase any food and drinks you need before you get on the train. The breakfast is very substantial and excellent value for money.
There was water leaking from the air conditioning unit one night and we had to change room. Facilities may need some updating. Hotel is at a good location right next to the Welcome Break services with decent choice of food. Hotel also has a restaurant at the front desk. Generally clean and tidy, although you would need to request for room cleaning the night before.

GGuest UserReally happy, able to leave the car in the car park and the room was clean, comfortable and had a great stay.

SScottishTravelerQuite dated rooms and very disappointing shower. Beds comfy. Parking was easier than expected as they offer a good discount to use the citi park. Check in process was easy. The hotel needs to do some upgrading to its rooms they are very dated

GGuest UserPerfect location for overnight stay before travelling to the airport. Just walk around the corner and you have the Welcome Break for food, drinks etc

AAndy_CNUKThis hotel is very conveniently located for access to and from the M1 (which is why I chose it). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars for location is because if you fancy taking a stroll into the nearby village, perhaps for a pub meal and a drink, then the footpath is non- existent in places and you need to be careful in the dark. But that's not the hotel's fault and as the hotel is clearly set up for travelling business customers, I suppose most people would just drive a couple of minutes to the local pubs (which were more lively than the hotel bar). Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were all helpful and polite and the breakfast was delicious and filling. And the room was fine too. Overall, this hotel worked well for me on this occasion and I am happy to recommend it

Great
EEskimo_galLovely hotel. Stayed here for business travel and it’s very nice. Clean, everything you need is in the room. Heating takes a while to warm up, but otherwise would stay here again. The food downstairs is also very nice and staff are friendly and provide a good service.
