With summer fully underway, it's time for us to showcase to you some of the biggest events celebrating Pride in Europe in 2022. While the continent as a whole has seen significant strides in LGBTQ+ rights over recent decades, there are still significant hurdles for the community as a whole to face. So, with this in mind, show your support by visiting a Pride event this summer!

Now, this obviously begs the question - which Pride event(s) in Europe should you visit? Well, we have some of the best examples incoming. This is just the tip of the iceberg, of course, but here are just some of our recommendations to visit - and don't forget to book your hotel to stay at with Trip.com too…

August 1–7

Stockholm Pride in 2022 is sure to be a wonderful event. This year's theme is 'Dags att bekänna färg' - or if your Swedish is a bit rusty, 'Time to profess colour'. Which sounds like a worthy theme to us.

The Stockholm Pride Parade is the largest of its kind in Scandinavia, with around 50,000 festival participants expected. It's packed with seminars, debates, workshops, exhibitions, film, theatre, and a whole lot more. Why not join in?

August 5–7

The Netherlands was the first country to legalise same-sex marriage - so the nation's capital is a perfect place to celebrate Pride in the LGBTQ+ community.

A huge array of events take place all across the city, and you get to experience the wonderful surroundings of Amsterdam as a bonus too. Top tip: definitely go to the Canal Parade on August 6th. The waterways are chock-full of boats blasting music and partying the day away…

August 5–7

Brighton is one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in the UK, and offers the country's most popular Pride event. In many ways, Brighton & Hove Pride is the nation's ubiquitous festival, and is an absolute must for LGBTQ+ communities and allies.

As ever, the 2022 iteration will feature an abundance of things to do, but try to visit the We Are Fabuloso music event in the Park - this year's headliners are Christina Aguilera and Paloma Faith.

August 8–14

Now in its 12th year, Prague Pride festival is sure to be a terrific and important celebration of all things LGBTQ+. The event takes place throughout an entire week, and culminates with the rainbow parade through the city on Saturday August 13th.

The parade will finish at Pride Park, where you can then enjoy 6 stages of music and celebration. This is just the main event, however - there are over 150 other things to do across the week in the Czech Republic's historic capital.

August 10–14

Throughout several days in August, you can celebrate Pride in the gorgeous surroundings of Antwerp. Belgium's largest city hosts a stellar line-up of events, and with the country widely-renowned as having some of the most progressive LGBTQ+ rights in the world, it's sure to be a great occasion.

The festival will see numerous events, including music, poetry, cabaret and a parade in the city. Be sure to check out the Love United Festival on Saturday August 13th!

August 13–21

An 8-day program is in store for attendees lucky enough to visit Copenhagen Pride. Denmark's largest human rights festival, this event is sure to be spectacular, especially given the COVID-related restrictions of the past 2 years.

In 2022, there will be a family area, tailored programs aimed at LGBTQ+ young people, and Pride Art, a new queer art exhibition at Nytorv. But that merely scratches the surface - indeed you can expect over 100 events across the days…

August 26–29

Manchester is a jewel in Britain's crown, a hub rich in cultural history. The Northern England city has a strong history in fighting LGBTQ+ prejudice, and Manchester Pride - taking place in late August - will be sure to continue that battle. And there will be plenty to get excited about, too…

Having been taking place in some guise since 1986, there will be plenty of celebration and happiness alongside the seriousness, with parties, performances and parades all taking place across the weekend.

September 2–11

The beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta is hosting its own Pride festival, with the refrain of #YouAreIncluded providing an insight into the welcoming nature of this event. The Pride March in Valletta - the Maltese capital - takes place on Saturday 10th September, but there are numerous events taking place in the opening days of the month.

The Pride Open Concert, and subsequent afterparty, alongside the WomenSpace by MGRM events stand out - but there are multiple LGBTQ+ -friendly activities taking place here.

Fun bonus fact: Malta is ranked number one for LGBT+ rights protection in the EU…

September 12–18

Have we saved the best Pride event for last? Well we couldn't possibly say, but in 2022 EuroPride - a pan-European international LGBTQ+ event, hosted by a different European city each year - takes place in the gorgeous Serbian capital.

Now in its 30th year, EuroPride Belgrade will aim to highlight the improvements needed to LGBTQ+ rights in the region, while also hosting a packed program of exciting events. Saturday, September 17th sees the highlight of the weekend, the parade, signing off with a concert at Pride Park. Don't miss it!
