This time, I rented a Renault Clio hybrid. It's powerful, stable, easy to drive, and fuel-efficient, making it a perfect small car for southern Spanish cities. However, Thrifty in Spain has been acquired by Hertz, so you'll need to find a Hertz store to pick up and return the car. The location map for the pickup and return locations on Trip.com doesn't match the actual location, so be careful. Furthermore, when I picked up the car at the Madrid store, the staff strongly suggested I upgrade to the hybrid version for an additional fee. After I declined, I ended up with the hybrid version (why did they even suggest upgrading in the first place?).

The car was very clean and a new model. We had no problems with pickup or return, and the staff was attentive. Our deposit was refunded shortly after returning the car. In short, we were very satisfied and rented again for the following week. I'll write another review after that trip.
