This was my first time renting a car abroad, and I wanted to leave a review. The rental company was quite convenient at Langkawi Airport; I think both pick-up and drop-off were at Gate 1. If you can't find it, just ask where Burger King is. The handover was handled by a local woman. She didn't speak Chinese, I didn't speak Malay, and neither did we speak English. But we managed with translation software, so it wasn't a big problem. You need to provide a translated copy of your driver's license and a photocopy. So don't take chances; make sure you have them prepared in advance. The first car they provided was indeed quite basic, with many scratches, and it was a small, compact car. Later, the staff made a mistake and replaced it with a Vios, which was noticeably in better condition than the previous one. We didn't do any island hopping, just went to the pier and Kuah Town twice, and it used about half a tank of gas. To be honest, it was quite fuel-efficient. The air conditioning was also very powerful, and the customer service staff were really nice, answering questions online in real time. Returning the car was also very convenient; you just hand over the keys and someone is there, unlike in China where they check the car's condition extensively. This company is pretty good!
