We are committed to promoting the achievement of employees’ rights and interests as well as the healthy development of the enterprise.
Supply chain
We recognise that it is crucial for us as an organisation to have oversight of our supply chains so that we can understand the risks of modern slavery along the chain and take action to mitigate those risks. The use of any form of forced labour is prohibited within our supply chains, including but not limited to involuntary prison labour, slavery, and human trafficking.
Trip.com Group has an extensive hotel and flight network consisting of 1.5+ million properties and flights from 640 airlines covering 3,400 airports in 220 countries and regions around the globe. Our platform is available in 24 languages across 40 countries and regions in 35 local currencies. We maintain 9 customer service centres and 16 call centres globally to strengthen our competitive advantage in online channels.
The Company and Trip.com Group work with partners across the travel industry (such as airlines, hotel groups, travel agencies, car hire companies and other partners) worldwide. We also provide accommodation reservation services, transportation ticketing services, packaged tours, corporate travel, online advertising services, and other travel-related offerings.
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can vary across different segments of our supply chain. We are committed to understanding and managing these risks through diligent partner selection and ongoing monitoring.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. Our internal policies and supplier-facing standards reflect this commitment and are designed to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
We consciously review and update the following policies, which show our commitment to acting ethically in all our business relationships and in ensuring that we implement meaningful system checks and controls to safeguard against slavery and human trafficking taking place in our supply chains.
Trip.com Group Business Ethics Guidelines
Trip.com Group Supplier Code of Conduct
Trip.com Group Equity and Diversity Policy
Employee Rights Statement of Trip.com Group
Protection and Reward Measures for Whistle-blower and Witness of Trip.com Group
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
We also take great care to ensure that our recruitment practices and policies are reviewed periodically and take into account our obligations. Our internal due diligence begins with our own recruitment practices, which are designed to be fair and transparent, including mandatory “right to work” checks for all prospective employees to verify their identity and legal authorisation to work, a fundamental control against trafficking and illegal labour. We incorporate our human rights and diversity policies into employee training to ensure all employees understand our zero-tolerance stance on forced labour and human trafficking.
We extend these standards to our partners through our Supplier Code of Conduct, which is a contractual requirement for doing business with us. This Code explicitly prohibits all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking, and requires suppliers to adhere to fair labour conditions, such as respecting minimum wage laws and ensuring employees can resign freely. Our due diligence checks can include vetting suppliers during onboarding and we reserve the contractual right to audit suppliers to verify compliance. Non-compliance can lead to corrective action plans or termination of the business relationship. Suppliers are also required to cascade these standards to their own tier-one suppliers. Trip.com Group looks favourably on suppliers that proactively demonstrate compliance with these human rights and requirements relating to fair working condition.
To ensure accountability, we have established a formal whistleblowing mechanism, accessible to all employees, customers, and suppliers, allowing for anonymous reporting of any suspected violations to our internal Audit Department. All reports are investigated, and we are committed to taking prompt corrective action based on the findings.
Our effectiveness
We will continue to monitor and assess our efforts in relation to our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We intend to take the following steps over the course of the next year in line with our commitments to continually improve and strengthen our approach:
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Company’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.
