Pingtan Island is the main island of Pingtan County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China. It is located on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait. It is the fifth largest island in China, the largest island in Fujian Province, and the closest place to Taiwan Island in mainland China (only about 68 nautical miles from Hsinchu).
It is located in the east of the Taiwan Strait and across the Haitan Strait from Fuqing City in the west.

The river was sparkling, the lights on both sides were bright, the neon lights of the Jiefang Bridge and the European-style buildings of Zhongzhou Island were particularly stunning in the night, especially when the light show was on, the whole city seemed to be dancing on the river.
