I loved the whole area, I found even the drive towards the area interesting as you pass through smaller villages with painted buildings of flowers and mountains and little markets. Especially important if you are getting a taxi put in the Red Leaves Valley Ticket Office not the North Gate Ground Parking Lot, it&rsquo;s a 49 minute walk up from there or a local took me up for 30&yen;. I went just after Mid Autumn Festival, lots of families and people enjoying the colour changing and the waterfalls were coming out of everywhere even onto the path! Wear non slip shoes some areas are quite wet. Very peaceful and enjoyable. Bonus there are buggy&rsquo;s that take passengers from different points around the park so if you aren&rsquo;t feeling very athletic they are an option.

The entrance is on the second floor, and you can take the elevator directly to the sixth-floor observation deck, which overlooks Daming Lake and Jinan City. There are also exhibitions of wood carvings, calligraphy and paintings. There is no exit on the first floor, so you have to return to the second floor after visiting. There is a cultural and creative store nearby where you can buy a stamped book and get it stamped, but the same book is 7 yuan cheaper at Lishanyuan, which seems a bit rip-off.

The park can only be entered through the east and south gates, and exited through the north gate. However, visitors must go around the park from the south to the north, enter the core area, then exit the core area from the south and exit through the north gate.
