See Edwin Austin Abbey’s huge study for ‘The Hours’, the celestial scene that decorates the ceiling of the Representatives Chamber, Pennsylvania State Capitol, Harrisburg. His most important work, created late in his career, it was to be his last.
A friend of John Singer Sargent, Royal Academician, successful artist and illustrator – Abbey, born 1852 in Philadelphia, left the US in 1878 for the UK, never to return. He produced ‘The Hours’ in his Gloucestershire studio, then the largest art studio in Europe, from where both the study and mural were shipped to the US.
Abbey’s career spanned an age of renewal in America, one of national expression, optimism and ambition that drove new, grand public architectural commissions like the State Capitol building and inspired literature and the arts.

a great art gallery right by Trafalgar Square. gorgeous building with a variety of art works to enjoy including 3 Van Gogh paintings. not huge if you aren&rsquo;t doing the paid exhibits also but a nice way to spend an hour or so. cloak room available for &pound;2 per item but you can leave your bag there for as many hours as needed, as long as you collect by closing time. cafe and toilets available (although we didn&rsquo;t use as the queues were huge!). staff were very friendly and nice.

This is definitely a reason to go to the UK. What you see in the British Museum is thousands of times more shocking than you can imagine.

After watching the changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace, we came to Westminster Abbey. There were a lot of people queuing up, and it took about an hour and a half to enter the church. There was an interpreter at the entrance, and you could choose Chinese. Follow the team and the interpreter will explain. My favorite is the Matisse-style painting window. The staff in the church are of high quality and good temperament, which makes people respect them.

I thought it was a special ride on the Ferris wheel, but the London Eye made me hit the face! When the capsule reached the highest point, I suddenly understood why the British love to chat. The Thames, Big Ben and the debris building look like they are shining in the sun, and it is really different every day. After landing, I found that the photos were all taken as glass reflections. Forget it, leave some regrets to be true.

The Queen&#39;s favorite palace is very luxurious inside, but you are not allowed to take photos, you can only take photos outside. When I entered, I took a photo but was stopped by the staff. Knowing the daily life of the royal family, Windsor Castle is generally very quiet.
