Lake Pleasant Regional Park is a large outdoor recreation area that straddles the border of Maricopa and Yavapai counties northwest of Phoenix, Arizona. The park is located within the city of Peoria, Arizona, and is a major recreation center in the northwest Phoenix metropolitan area. The park's mountainous desert landscape, including the lake, covers more than 23,000 acres (93 km2) and is home to many other recreational activities such as mountain biking, camping, hiking, and the annual Dam Run trail race. Aravaipa Running has partnered with Lake Pleasant Regional Park to bring you the annual run, which now features a 40-kilometer course that will take in many of the park's newest trails. The 40-kilometer course will utilize the newly constructed trails, traversing along the lakeshore and above the lake. The 40-kilometer course will climb to the top of Yavapai Point for incredible views of the lake.
