On March 30, Taikang Art Museum's new exhibition "Unfinished Time: Chinese Contemporary Art 1980s×1990s" was held as scheduled. The exhibition was hosted by Taikang Art Museum and supported by Taikang Insurance Group. It brought together 42 Taikang collection treasures, presenting the creation of Chinese contemporary art in the 1980s and 1990s, paying tribute to the creators of artistic change, and at the same time paying tribute to the creators of various industries who have dared to change since the reform and opening up through art works.

Themed “Unfinished Time”, this exhibition aims to break through the constraints of the traditional linear view of history. Taking the emotions and feelings in artworks as the entry point, it leads the audience back to the 1980s and 1990s to witness the artists’ exploration and practice of “modernity” during the development of China’s market economy.
In the 1980s and 1990s, the booming market economy profoundly changed people's lifestyles and values. Art also took on a diverse look, no longer following a single "progressive" logic, but moving towards diversity in the constant tug-of-war between tradition and avant-garde, ideal and reality. Whether it was social life or artistic practice at the time, the exploration of "modernity" was still ongoing, and the transformation had not yet reached its end.
