Yanagi Yukinori is one of the representatives of Japanese neo-pop art in the 1980s and 1990s. He explores complex issues such as sovereignty, globalization and borders through large-scale, site-specific installations.
In the upcoming first large-scale retrospective in Europe, the focus is on his award-winning work "World Flag Ant Farm Project" at the 1993 Venice Biennale. This national flag made of sand is connected by plastic pipes. The ants moving randomly in the pipes invade the flags, and unpredictable cracks appear in the flag pattern. In addition, there are recent works by the artist, as well as large-scale installation works that are reinterpreted as a response to the post-industrial space of the Pirelli Bicocca Hangar Art Center.

Enter Milan Cathedral at 14:30 pm, the sun is just right, through the painted glass on the stone pillars and floor tiles, the atmosphere is solemn and sacred. It is very convenient to book tickets in advance, and there is almost no need to queue up to enter the door. The interior of the church is magnificent, with its towering domes and beautifully painted windows, especially the main altar and organ area, which is solemn and detailed. We also climbed the roof terrace, overlooking the city of Milan from the spires, and enjoyed the close proximity of the statues with different postures, and felt the perfect blend of architectural art and faith. The stone ladder to the top was a bit steep but well worth it. The surrounding area of the church is also very lively. After the visit, sit in the square for a while and watch the pigeons fly and dance, and the mood is particularly quiet.

Beautiful square in stretching from the Duomo to the shopping streets. On a beautiful day it will be packed and have 2-3 wedding couples trying to create epic wedding photos. A little too crowded and beware of pick-pockets.
