The exhibition presents the golden age of Hungarian poster art, which evolved at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in the spirit of Art Nouveau. The displayed material includes some 120 posters by famous painters such as József Rippl-Rónai, János Vaszary, and Károly Ferenczy, as well as artists specialised in posters, such as Géza Faragó, Mihály Biró, Ferenc Helbing and Márton Tuszkay. The development of poster art and its beginnings in Hungary are shown in an international context and include works by the greatest of the genre: Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Koloman Moser and others. In addition to masterpieces of the Art Nouveau poster and advertising graphics, the exhibition, organised as part of the Bartók Spring Art Weeks, also evokes the Art Nouveau design of the period through books, magazines, applied art objects, ceramics and furniture.

Went on this river cruise at night, the experience was amazing! The boat has both an indoor and outdoor section so that in winter, you can still take photos and then go back inside the cabin to stay warm. They offer drinks, just not warm ones. Overall good experience from the dock, just need to walk a bit from the tram stop to get there.

A Historical Site Right at Your Doorstep

On the bluestone pavement of the West Gate barbican ruins, deep ruts from the chariots of yesteryear still remain. Wild grasses sway in the wind on several remaining rammed earth foundations, seemingly still telling the story of the fierce battle six hundred years ago. Sunlight slants across these mottled relics, gilding them with a golden halo.

Located at the intersection of Zhongshan 7th Road and Renmin Middle Road in Liwan District, it is the only well-preserved Ming Dynasty barbican ruin discovered in Guangzhou to date. Discovered in 1996, the barbican ruins, which guarded the city gate, are over 50 meters long from north to south and 18 meters wide from east to west. The central part is buried under Zhongshan 7th Road, while the northern and southern parts are exposed above ground.
