Kuroda Tatsuaki, who was active in Kyoto, is one of Japan's leading wood lacquer craftsmen, and in 1970 he was the first person in the field of woodworking to be designated a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure). Questioning the division of labor that was common at the time, Kuroda created his works in a consistent manner, from designing and creating the base to decorating them, and opened up a unique creative world by integrating practicality, decorativeness, and the characteristics of the materials. This exhibition is being held to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Kuroda's birth, and will introduce the life of this artist who left a clear mark on the history of Japanese crafts through his representative works from his early period to his later years.

This is a nice museum to visit if the theme of the exhibitions appeals to you. It has interesting and timeless exhibitions of modern Japanese art, as well as nice works of art from Kyoto. The floors of the museum are easy to navigate. The brochures and labels are in English. The architecture and location are superb, with views of the city and the mountains surrounding it. There are cozy lounges on the ground floor and top floor to enjoy the view. The museum&#39;s cafe overlooks the picturesque Lake Biwa canal. Unlike the National Museum which has a blockbuster exhibition this month that attracts many visitors, the Museum of Modern Art felt quite quiet.

One of the oldest temples in Kyoto, it was built in 778 and listed as a World Cultural Heritage in 1994. You can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and red maples in autumn. The Kiyomizu stage in the temple is supported by 139 large pillars and overlooks the entire Kyoto. A must-see when visiting Kyoto.

Tickets are free, but the main hall inside costs 500 yen. After buying the ticket, you can turn around and take photos and check in with the ticket. The Hanging Temple is a good spot for taking photos and checking in. The Century Kiss of Shinran in Conan is also here.
