Gordon Parks: Camera Portraits looks at a renowned American photographer and how he forged a new mode of portraiture after World War II. Parks merged the documentary photographer's desire to place his subjects where they lived and worked with the studio photographer's attention to clothing, persona, and expression. In doing so, he believed he could create portraits of individuals who embodied their cultural significance. He applied this approach to American icons like boxer Muhammad Ali and conductor Leonard Bernstein, as well as Harlem gang leaders and Detroit couples, revealing the humanity and cultural dignity of each individual. 
Drawing primarily from the Corcoran Collection, this exhibition features approximately 25 portraits created by Parks between 1941 and 1970. Explore Parks' innovations in portraiture through some of his most famous photographs. Learn how his portraits tell larger stories about the Civil Rights Movement, the African American experience, and American culture.

The Capitol building needs to make an appointment to buy tickets in advance to visit. Arrive on time according to the requirements. There are many people. Be sure to have an advance amount to not affect the itinerary. You can make an appointment for a Chinese tour in advance. Although it is a Chinese tour, it is also a foreigner tour guide who speaks English and uses a translator to translate it into Chinese to play it for us. It is very interesting. The interior of the Capitol is also very good from the perspective of the building itself. You must explain it when you go in and visit.

The White House

I heard that the White House has not been open to the public since 9/11. When we went there, we could only watch it from a distance outside the fence, so the White House became a boring landmark. We took a tourist check-in photo to end our visit.

There is a big pine tree on the south side of the White House. I didn&rsquo;t expect it to be a &quot;landmark&quot; as well, the &quot;National Christmas Tree&quot;... Well, it seems that we should choose to visit during Christmas.

The Washington Monument Under the Night Sky

As night falls, the Washington Monument, like a silver sword, pierces the Washington, D.C. night sky. Shedding the daytime hustle and bustle, this pure white obelisk loses some of its solemnity and gains a more tranquil and profound air.

Warm yellow lights slowly spread upwards from the base of the monument, clearly and softly outlining the texture of the granite, gazing at the stars in the clear night sky. The monument stands upright, its solitary height accentuated by the surrounding lawn, like a silent guardian of history.

A gentle evening breeze stirs the shadows of the trees on the lawn, and the light and shadow flow across the monument, adding a touch of dynamism. In the distance, the dome of the Capitol Building and the outline of the Jefferson Memorial are faintly visible, together with the monument, outlining the city&#39;s unique skyline in the night.

Without the throngs of tourists during the day, the monument at this moment is more conducive to quiet contemplation. It has witnessed more than two hundred years of changes in the United States, standing quietly under the night sky, perfectly blending the weight of history with the gentleness of the night, silently telling the story of the long years.

National Mall

The National Mall is a must-check-in place for Washington tourism. One is the Lincoln Memorial and the other is the Washington Monument. There is a pool of water between them and green spaces on both sides. There are monuments such as the Victory Memorial of World War II, the Vietnam War and other monuments, and the Jefferson Memorial. The beautiful cherry blossoms of the annual Washington Cherry Blossom Festival are also in full bloom around this area. We arrived in Washington at the end of April. It is a pity that the cherry blossoms have been lost and have not left a trace. I can only imagine that the scene of blooming must be beautiful.
