SEA Junction ร่วมกับ Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) จะจัดนิทรรศการ “Cartooning the ASEAN Way of Non-Interference and Consensus” ตั้งแต่วันที่ 22 ตุลาคม ถึง 3 พฤศจิกายน 2024 ที่หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร (Bangkok Art and Culture Center) โดยนิทรรศการนี้จะจัดขึ้นที่ Curved Wall ชั้น 4 (Comics Exhibition) และ Corner Space ชั้น 1 (Cartoons Exhibitions) เพื่อสะท้อนบทบาทของอาเซียนในการจัดการกับปัญหาปัจจุบันและปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นใหม่ในภูมิภาค

ในชั้น 4 จะมีการจัดแสดงการ์ตูนคอมิกส์ ในขณะที่ชั้น 1 จะมีการจัดแสดงการ์ตูนทั่วไป โดยนิทรรศการนี้จะนำเสนอผลงานของผู้ชนะการแข่งขัน “Cartooning the ASEAN Way of Non-Interference and Consensus” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดย SEA Junction ร่วมกับ AJAR ในต้นปี 2024 รวมถึงผลงานที่คัดเลือกจากผู้เข้าร่วมอื่น ๆ ในทั้งสองประเภท

Chao Phraya River: The liquid dividing line between divinity and the secular world 

This turbid river has never really belonged to tourists. When the long-tail boat engine cuts through the water, the golden roof of the Grand Palace and the tin houses of the slums are broken together in the ripples, and you will understand the most authentic reflection of Bangkok. 

The Chao Phraya River in the daytime is a mobile market. Sand-carrying ships and water buses compete for the waterway in the sound of whistles, and the sampans of coconut vendors nimbly pass through. The porcelain spire of the Zhengwang Temple burns pupils under the scorching sun, and the fluorescent bracelet vendors at the Don Muang Pier are shouting prices in Chinese - the gods and merchants here share the same tide. 

After dusk falls, the river begins to show its spirit. The night lights of the temples on both sides gradually light up, and the neon signs cast colorful spells on the water. The tuk-tuk drags the light tail across the center of the river, like a string of floating ellipsis, and the whistle of the cargo ship in the distance resonates with the evening prayer bells. 

It is recommended to avoid sightseeing boats and jump on the orange public boats used by locals. When the salty water vapor mixed with the jasmine fragrance from the old woman&#39;s basket hits you, and when the teenagers in school uniforms take selfies at the bow of the boat, you will touch the true texture of the Chao Phraya River. This river does not need to be watched, it is only responsible for stirring the magic and reality of Bangkok into a suspension that never settles.

The Sanctuary of Truth

Standing in front of the Temple of Truth, I first felt that wood would speak. This is not an ordinary temple, but an art struggle that lasted 40 years. More than 300 craftsmen carved day after day, and under their chisel, thousands of ancient trees were reborn. No drawings, no machinery, only the craftsmanship and a pious heart passed down from generation to generation. The most shocking is the dome that you can see from head to head. 100,000 hand-carved wooden components bite each other, without a nail, but stronger than steel cement. The sea breeze wrapped in wood, and the living gods seemed to whisper: true eternity, always grinded out by hand. Tips:&bull; It is recommended to choose a working day to visit in the morning, and you can see more craftsmen creating on-site &bull; Wear plain clothes to take pictures and make films &bull; Count three seconds before touching the wood carving, and feel the time flowing in the texture when leaving, there is no complete panoramic photo in my camera because it is worth recording here It is never a certain angle, but the shock of the straight heart.
