Join curator Cat Dunn for a free, in-depth tour of the Crafted Selves exhibition at St Andrews Museum on January 17, 2024, at 2pm. Cat Dunn will guide visitors through the exhibition, introducing each of the artists and discussing what inspires their craft. The exhibition, titled Crafted Selves: The Unfinished Conversation, explores the dual-identity of the 13 Scotland-based artists featured. Through various mediums such as sculpture, painting, ceramics, textiles, installation, moving image films, and creative writing responses, these artists express their unique sense of self, born from a cultural heritage that is both Scottish and rooted in another cultural home. The exhibition also delves into other dualisms and expressions of identity, including artists who explore their sexuality, disability, and trans and non-binary identities through their work. The tour is suitable for all ages and admission is free. Don't miss this opportunity to gain deeper insights into the artistic process and the exploration of identity. The Crafted Selves tour is presented in anticipation of the Scottish premiere of Alberta Whittle's film, The Axe Forgets, But The Tree Remembers, which will be screened at The Byre Theatre in St Andrews later that evening.
