An evening of Live Music Entertainment hosted by the Langley Senior Resource Society. Performers Headliners Queer As Funk Your Undercover Band Refund Policy No Refunds About this event A 19+ evening of live Music Entertainment FEATURING: SOULFUL GUITARIST ERNESTINE ERNESTINE DAY Ernie plays solo acoustic guitar with a passion and joy that is evident when she performs. Her voice is the guitar and it has been a huge part of her healing process. It is the one place she is able to express her innermost self. https://www.soulfulguitarist.com/homepage DRAG SHOW More info to follow. QUEER AS FUNK Not your typical dance band, Queer As Funk are part-advocates, part-funk-revivalists, and have been turning stages into dance floors and audiences into family for over a decade. As one of the few predominantly queer bands in Canada, they offer more than just a great night out: at their core, Queer As Funk uses music as a tool for visibility, pride, and the radical celebration of the queer experience. Born from a desire to bring vibrant funk and soul to Vancouver’s queer community, Queer As Funk is dedicated to gathering and taking up space—especially in smaller or more isolated areas. The band has become a beacon in the 2SLGBTQI+ community, putting on high-energy live shows where diversity is celebrated and all are welcome. https://www.queerasfunk.com/ THE UNDERCOVER BAND We bring a vibrant sound, a tight rhythm section and hot vocals that guarantee to make your favourite songs shine. No matter what the crowd, we've got all the hits that everyone knows. With hits from the 60's through to this decade's top 40, you can be sure that everyone can sing along and leave feeling satisfied. https://undercoverbandbc.com/home PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY: Here are some tips from ICBC https://www.icbc.com/road-safety/crashes-happen/alcohol-impaired-driving The Langley Pride Day Committee acknowledges that this event takes place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish people specifically the lands of the q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), Máthxwi (Matsqui), and se\'mya\'me (Semiahmoo) First Nations. Concerts Classical
The cornerstone classical masterpiece on the program, a ‘pocket’ version of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony by Carl Burchard for one piano 4 hands, violin and cello leaves nothing out in terms of fullness and exuberance. Acclaimed musicians Jasper Wood (violin), Joseph Elworthy (cello) and the Bergmann Piano Duo will also perform the Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn, a selection of Brahms Hungarian Dances, and additional works that celebrate the splendid and rich combination of strings and piano. “As an added gift, violinist Jasper Wood played … with a gorgeous sound and brilliant control of his instrument. Wood sounded like an entire violin section unto himself.” – Halifax Chronicle Herald “A cogent vision of each suite impressively expressive yet contained, drawn with surgical precision making [Elworthy's] interpretations an impressive achievement”. - Strad Magazine "[The Bergmann Duo] demonstrated an extraordinary ability to seemlessly blend their playing, much like the Everly Brothers could harmonize two voices, to sound like one rich instrument." - Red Deer Advocate Learn more about this concert Subscribe to the Season and Save!
