Earth Day Sound Bath | Salt Cave Bolton
Apr 22, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Bolton
Earth Day Sound Bath: Rest, Reflect, Renew
The world moves fast.
Earth Day invites us to slow down — to reconnect with the natural world and with ourselves.
If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or longing for a deeper sense of peace, this Sound Bath offers a space to rest, reflect, and return to what matters most.
Vanessa will guide you into deep relaxation through the soothing sounds of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Singing Bowls, Shamanic Drumming, Tuning Forks, Chimes, Percussion, and Voice. The sounds will create a full-body experience that helps quiet the mind, relax the body, and soothe the spirit.
We’ll begin with a short reflection honoring the Earth — the forests, oceans, skies, and creatures that sustain us.
Then you’ll simply lay down, close your eyes, and be carried by sound.
No experience needed. Nothing you need to do.
Just a space to breathe, to be, and to feel renewed.
Please bring:
A yoga mat
A blanket, pillow, or eye covering to make yourself comfortable
Why come?
Because when we slow down and listen, we remember who we are — and how deeply we belong to this Earth.

FORAGE & COOK (Full Day) near Bolton (Lancashire) | Woodland Trust Barrow Bridge Car Park
May 11, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Bolton
This course is designed to get you as involved as possible - this includes identifying, picking and tasting a range of wild species that will be found on the day. There will also be plenty of wild food and drink for everyone to get stuck into!
The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging:
Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage
. We aim for an array of these elements on every session we run (weather and season permitting!)
Event sold out or can't make this date? Head to
www.foragebox.co.uk/workshops
or view our
Eventbrite profile
to browse all available sessions.
What To Expect
Our 'Forage & Cook - Full Day' events are full day spent finding, identifying and gathering wild ingredients before cooking them into a hearty meal as a group. This format is popular with those looking for a more comprehensive experience, offering us the chance to showcase a range of wild flavours.
4 hours will be spent finding, identifying and gathering ingredients. This will then be followed by 2 hours of cooking, preparing and eating the harvest. Expect a focus on 15-20 specific ingredients, which will then be incorporated into 3 to 5 simple dishes, designed to showcase each respective ingredient effectively. There will also be a wild tipple (soft alternative also available) served to the group and perhaps a range of 'table toppers' that your tutor will have made in advance to enhance the meal, such as a wild kimchi, a foraged ketchup or homemade seasoning.
DURATION: 6 hours
(approx 4 hours of foraging and 2 hours preparing and eating your wild dinner)
We like to keep some elements a surprise for the day, but here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop:
a short introduction regarding the safety and format of the day
discussions around foraging tips, safety, ethics, etiquette, sustainability and the law
a circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site.
Expect a route of around 3-4km predominantly on footpaths
a closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager
a chance to slow the pace of modern life down, meet new people and immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours
small tasters of wild food, drinks and other preserves - this includes freshly-picked items straight from the wild as we look to find the ingredients that will work best in our meal
our workshops are run in a welcoming and informal fashion, where attendee questions and contributions are encouraged
after the event, you will be sent a follow-up email containing a list of everything we found on the day and a full menu. Please do not expect photos or descriptions in this email - it is purely a list for reference purposes, and we find it helps people do further research in their own time.
At the end of the session, there may be a small selection of
our wild products
and workshop vouchers available to purchase (card and cash accepted). This is a recent element of our events after enough attendees made enquiries about it - there is no pressure to buy anything having already bought tickets but sometimes people want a souvenir to take with them! Please speak to your tutor about this at the end.
Who Is This Workshop For?
This is a day spent almost entirely on your feet, covering a fair distance, often up to 5km on uneven ground, so consideration for mobility issues will be required before buying tickets. Children are not able to attend these sessions. No previous foraging experience is required for this event.
We strongly believe that
foraging is for everyone
, with all demographics welcome, regardless of age, ability, gender or ethnicity.
Please read our FAQs further down the page to find out about dogs, children and mobility.

Your foraging guide for the day should arrive on site at least an hour before the start and will start gathering the group together approximately 15 minutes before the official start time. Bolton
Please contact if you have any questions or would like a HUGE 25% discount!
Spring has sprung and excitement is in the air! Come for a walk and learn about edible plants and we'll see what mushrooms we can find. There's a good chance of St Georges mushrooms and with this incredibly wet winter finally drying up there has been a good few unseasonable fungi species popping up. Fingers crossed!
Moses Gate Country Park is a superb location for springtime foraging with lots of edible plants and herbs.
There is parking nearby. Public transport is easy, there are regular trains and buses between Bolton and the Manchester and some of them stop at Farnworth which is a 5 minute walk away. If you have any transport questions or issues please get in touch.
And.... Lets go foraging :D
