Classical music enthusiasts in Newcastle are in for a treat with the upcoming Classical Recital: The Telyn Quartet. This highly talented quartet, consisting of Seth Collins on cello, Tabitha Appel and Alma Vink on violin, and Izzy Neary Adams on viola, will be showcasing their exceptional skills at the renowned Lit & Phil venue, located at 23 Westgate Road, Newcastle, NE1 1SE.
The Telyn Quartet has a rich musical background, having met at the esteemed music course 'MusicWorks' and receiving coaching from renowned musicians such as Krysia Osostowicz, Robin Ireland, Daniel Tong, and Robin Michael during their participation in the Wye Valley Festival Summer Residency. Their dedication and passion for their craft have been further fueled by the invaluable coaching they received from members of the London Haydn Quartet at 'MusicWorks Sundays'.
This concert promises an exquisite repertoire featuring works by Haydn, Britten, and Beethoven. The quartet's interpretation of Haydn op.17 no.4 in C minor, Britten's Three Divertimenti for String Quartet, and Beethoven's op. 74 in E flat Major, known as 'the Harp', is sure to captivate the audience.
The talented Tabitha Appel, a chamber musician and soloist, stands out for her varied musical interests and regularly participates in chamber music courses. Alma Vink, while pursuing her studies in English at the University of Cambridge, hones her violin skills under the tutelage of David Takeno in London. Isobel Neary-Adams, currently studying music at the University of Oxford, has showcased her passion for chamber music at prestigious seminars like IMS Prussia Cove. Seth Collins, with his extensive experience in orchestral playing and conducting, is eagerly anticipating his participation in the Brundibar Festival this January.
