The Ideas Foundation cordially invites visitors to celebrate the work of Eskdale School students at the "Belonging: Private View Exhibition" in Whitby. This event, set to take place on May 22, 2024, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Pannett Art Gallery, showcases the stories of young Eskdale individuals through a combination of photography and the written word. As a creative education charity, the Ideas Foundation collaborates with youth, educators, companies, and donors to foster a new creative generation via engaging workshops and initiatives. By encouraging innovative thinking, problem-solving, and idea generation, the Foundation equips young individuals with valuable soft skills like communication, collaboration, and confidence.
The "Belonging" exhibition, a product of the Foundation's "Creating Connections" initiative, focuses on enhancing well-being through creativity, a concept developed in collaboration with students. During the project, students participated in photography and writing workshops led by skilled facilitators and photographers. By providing students with cameras to document their daily lives, the program aimed to cultivate creativity and self-expression. The exhibition will run from May 21 to May 26, open from 10 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, at the picturesque Pannett Art Gallery nestled in the serene Pannett Park in Whitby. The gallery not only features a diverse array of temporary exhibitions but also houses an intriguing collection of 19th and 20th Century paintings for all to enjoy. Additionally, the gallery hosts family-friendly activities, creating an enriching experience for all visitors. Best of all, admission to the exhibition is free of charge, making it accessible to all art enthusiasts and community members.
