Celebrate the opening reception of Rachel Daly's exhibition, "Embroidering with Paint: the Contemporary Textile," at the Lois Lambert Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. Immerse yourself in the intricate details and vibrant colors of Daly's works as she breaks the traditional rules of oil paint. Using a unique technique, Daly meticulously layers "beads" of paint to create an illusion of textiles and embroidery. This allows for a sense of creative freedom that traditional needle and thread work would not permit. Each stroke mimics a stitch, and thousands of these stitches come together to form an embroidered image. When viewed as a whole, Daly's artwork creates a liminal space between textile and painting. Join us on November 18, 2023, at the Lois Lambert Gallery for this remarkable exhibition. Admission is free, so don't miss the opportunity to experience Rachel Daly's extraordinary talent firsthand.
