The Salida Soccer Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament Fundraiser is an exciting event taking place at the Salida Community Center. This event aims to support the local soccer programs of Chaffee County United and Salida High School Soccer. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, everyone is encouraged to participate and help contribute to these worthy causes.
In addition to the poker tournament, there will be a variety of food, drinks, and soccer gear available for purchase at the concession table. Please note that cash will be the only accepted form of payment.
The tournament format includes a chance to win some fantastic prizes, generously provided by local merchants. These prizes will be awarded as door prizes, giving every participant an equal opportunity to win. The champion of the poker tournament will be celebrated with a hearty high-five and a round of applause.
To ensure fairness, seat assignments will be randomly determined at registration. Starting stacks of tournament chips will be provided to each player, but these chips hold no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money during the tournament. Blind levels will increase at regular 15-minute intervals, adding to the excitement and challenge of the game.
Experienced dealers will be present at each table, and players can confirm their familiarity with the rules and their comfort level with dealing at registration. All players must be dealt into the hand, even if they are not present at the table. However, if a player is not present by the time their second card is dealt, their hand will be ruled dead.
As players are eliminated, tables will be broken in a predetermined order, and players will be randomly assigned to empty seats at remaining tables. An "all-in" bet means a player is going all-in with their chips in front of them. If a player has more chips, they are only entitled to an amount equal to their own stack. Showing cards intentionally is not allowed and can result in a hand being ruled dead.
Throughout the tournament, lower-denomination chips will be removed from the table when they are no longer needed. Players will receive new chips rounded up to the next denomination.
When only two players remain, it's called heads-up play, and the small blind acts first before the flop but last on all subsequent streets.
