Dejay Medical and Frame Running Australia are collaborating to host a highly anticipated event titled "Come'n'Try Frame Running - SOPAC with Dejay Medical" at Sydney Olympic Park. This event aims to introduce individuals with impaired balance, such as those with Cerebral Palsy, brain injury, high leg amputations, arthritis, Parkinson's, and various other balance impairments, to the exhilarating sport of Frame Running. Frame Running, also known as RaceRunning, is a liberating sport that empowers individuals by enabling them to move independently. Participants will experience the joy, freedom, and excitement of running through the utilization of a Frame Runner. These frames cater to individuals of all ages, allowing them to engage in recreational activities and sports at various levels, including school, athletics clubs, therapy groups, social events, and fun runs. The RaceRunner, a specially designed tricycle without pedals, serves as the primary equipment for this sport. It offers individuals with impaired balance the opportunity to partake in activities such as basic mobility, play, family rides, sports, and physical fitness. Although relatively new to Australia, Frame Running has gained popularity since its inception in Denmark in 1991. It has now evolved into a World Para Athletic event, with 17 countries participating in the World Games. This sport welcomes individuals of all ages, from 3 to 103, who are unable to walk or run functionally due to conditions such as the use of a wheelchair, walkers, or an unsteady gait. Frame Running provides these athletes with high support needs an unprecedented chance to engage in aerobic competition on the athletics track, where they are unable to participate in racing wheelchair or ambulant running events. The event aims to attract individuals with disabilities, their families, medical professionals, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, sports scientists, and anyone interested in exploring this sport. Please note that this event will allow attendees to try out the bikes; however, there might be a wait to find a bike that fits their size. The organizers will provide assistance and guidance to ensure the right-sized bike is assigned. Participants who already own a Frame Runner are encouraged to bring it along and train with the group.
