Presented by: Stomp Records, House of TARG Doors: 8pm | 19+ Cover: $25 at the door | $20 +fees adv WINE LIPS (Toronto Punk Psych Rock) Toronto based garage punk psych rockers, Wine Lips bring their fast n dirty riffs & catchy sing along songs to round out what will surely be a swirling, dance-a-thon/party catharsis. Resistance is futile. It's pure adrenaline, it's noise, it's intense, it's refreshing, and it feels life-giving. The garage-psych band's new album is, for all intents and purposes, pretty fucking crazy. - Exclaim! ----------------- JIM'S PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL (Ott Rock n Roll) Jim's Plumbing & Electrical is a rock and roll band from Ottawa, Ontario. With companionships born through years in the trenches of the DIY music scene of Canada's Capital city. In their music, a joyous rock demeanor drives mature undertones. Swift guitar solos, float between vibrant keyboard melodies and enchanting lyrics, creating a truly unique listening experience. With genre-bending songs that transform between hard-nose rock and roll to psychedelic rock, with nods to glam rock, pop and electronic. Their innovative sound frames lyrical depth exploring complex themes of introspection and existentialism. Jim's Plumbing & Electrical is poised to capture the hearts of music lovers with their dynamic blend of styles and thoughtful lyrics. As they continue to evolve their sound and engage audiences with compelling live shows, they are positioned to leave an enduring mark on the Canadian music scene. www.instagram.com/jimsplumbingandelectrical ----------------- Join the facebook event TUNES & VIDS http://www.houseoftarg.com/concert-listings-events/wine-lips-toronto-punk-psych-rock-jims-plumbing-and-electrical Information Source: House of TARG | eventbrite

Celebrate women in classical music history with works by composers like Mendelssohn-Hensel, Boulanger, Beach, Louie and Livingston. The world needs more music, and the world of music needs more women! In this concert, we feature a sampling of the vast array of brilliant female composers who have made their mark on the classical music scene over the past two centuries, from early-Romantic German composer and pianist Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, to French composer, conductor and teacher Nadia Boulanger and American composer and pianist Amy Beach, both very active at the turn of the century, to modern-day Canadian luminary composers Alexina Louie and Cecilia Livingston. The program will include performances on a variety of instruments by some of our rising star students and scholarship winners. We will also celebrate the extraordinary women on our list of scholarship donors, who represent all walks of life but share at least one thing in common – their dedication to supporting music and the arts. Join us and our host Professor Julie Pedneault-Deslauriers, who will introduce the works and share some insights into the fascinating women who created them. PROGRAM Introduction/Host – Julie Pedneault Deslauriers Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel - 3 duets: Lucia Micu, soprano; Emma Kwong, mezzo-soprano with Maxime Dubé-Malenfant, piano Amy Beach: Romance – Luigi Torres, violin with pianist (TBC) Nadia Boulanger: D'un matin de printemps – Luigi Torres, violin with pianist (TBC) Alexina Louie: Memories in an Ancient Garden – Enah Cheng, piano Cecilia Livingston: Kalipso – Lauren Reisig, soprano with Maxime Dubé-Malenfant, piano Information Source: uO | École de Musique| School of Music | eventbrite

SERIES DANCE 10 #51 / ‘’Accumulation’’ by Co. Erasga Dance (la version française suit) October 24,25,26 / 7 :30pm / ODD BOX / Doors open at 7 pm In Accumulation, the assemblage, association, manipulation, contemplation and recycling of stuff and waste stirs the creative and artists consciousness becoming our realities to an earthly crisis. Choreography and Performance Alvin Erasga Tolentino (Canada) Composer/Musician Emmanuel Mailly (France) Sculptor/Visual Artist Marc Gerenton (France) Costume Designer Meagan Woods (New York, USA) Lighting Tory Ip (Canada) Stage Management Yasuhiro Okada (Canada) Accumulation is a transcontinental performance project by Co.ERASGA Dance in collaboration with the participating artists from New York and France. This timely, creative project aims to fuse the hybridity of multiple disciplines towards performance perspective and experience. Body, dance, movements, sound, costume, sculpture and visual objects in the making and experiencing for the stage. The piece seeks to question our human relational, place and time on environmental concerns faced by an alarming future never before for our natural world. The project sets human-made objects, debris and nature’s remnants as our surroundings, an encounter of our human consumptions and excess. The deterioration of the natural world is set centre stage, a landscape for a hunting, moving dance and sculptural choreography. Accumulation responds to and challenges the creative venture towards art and environmental stewardship. Can we raise and push creative minds, resources, practices and concerns to attune our creativity to an alarming and devastating fragile ecologies? What does the earth ask of us - Robin Wall Kimmerer Alvin Erasga Tolentino is one of the most active Asian/Canadian dance artists contributing 3 decades to the dance milieu and internationally as a choreographer and dancer. He is the founding and artistic director of Vancouver based Co.ERASGA. Exploring issues of gender, identity, hybridity, cultural re-dress and cross-cultural collaborations, Tolentino's choreographic works in SOLA, BATO/stone, MINORI, VOLT, FIELD, SHE SAID, OrienTik/Portrait, BODYGlass, PARADIS/PARADISE, ADAMEVE, SHADOW MACHINE, Expose, Shifting Geography, Colonial, Unwrapping Culture and Collected Traces and Still Here, as well with his award-winning explorations of dance on film, have made him an ambassador for dance in Canada reaching 4 continents in the last 2 decades. companyerasgadance.ca ------------------------------------------------------------- SÉRIE DANSE 10 no 51 présente ’Accumulation’’Company Erasga Dance Society 24,25,26 octobre 2024 / 19h30 / ODD BOX Ouverture des portes à 19 h Dans Accumulation, l’assemblage, l’association, la manipulation, la contemplation et le recyclage d’objets et de déchets éveillent la conscience créative des artistes, la réalité qui prévaut dans la crise terrestre.
