Their programming is completely unique and has been described as genuinely original and exploratory . As a duo, they have delighted audiences throughout the UK and performed for the Spanish Embassy. NOT DEPORTED YET: English stand-up comedy | Slow Mill
Jun 5, 2025 (UTC+1)
Mill
Ciao Milano! This June 5th, we bring you 'NOT DEPORTED YET' - a night of comedy, choas, and charm from our very own, 'techncially international, but emotionally local' comedians - Stephen Duranske and Vamshi Damagatla. As an American and an Indian living in Milan, join us as we hop through our twists and tales of navigating life in Milan - through metro mishaps, University lectures, comedy open mics, spritzy aperitivos, and, not to forget, immigration appointments. A night that every true Milanese might either laugh or cry about, but will definetly relate to. As a special finale, we will wrap up with a News feature segment of our very own 'Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update' (yes, we will all agree to pretend its a Saturday), where you can expect the latest news and headlines, reinterpreted through the very biased, very confused, and very funny lens of two expat comedians. *The show will be completely in English* Slow Mill is run by the Association “Dora and Pajtimit” Aps. Membership in the Association, costing €5, is mandatory and lasts for 1 year. Please register 2 days before the event here :bit.ly/tesseradep About the comedians Stephen Duranske 23 year old Stephen Duranske is an American from Maryland, now 'surviving' in Milan. By day, he studies architecture at Poltitecnico di Milano and works as a freelance designer, but by night, he's Milan's comedy Batman, saving people and making them laugh through his hilarious jokes, stories, and impressions. With many years of theatre and improv experience in the U.S under his belt, he has now become an integral part of the English comedy and 'IMPROV' scene of Milan and has performed for various showcases over the past year. A performance along a table A show and talk A long table
Underneath, an archaeology, of sorts
Objects are assembled, time and space fold
The sea rises, the sea falls
Vapour. In this new art-work, artists Sheila Ghelani and Sue Palmer, turn over the interconnections between climate and geology, fuel and feelings, the strata and layers of atmospheres through performance and action. Everything we make is from the earth and will go back to it Running order:
– Arrive, looking and reading
– Sue and Sheila’s performance along a table
– A conversation between the artists and two invited guests from other fields, ranging from scientists to local historians, from artists to activists
– Our event will include a break and a drink. Full price tickets are £12.50, with a concessionary ticket at £6.50. Sue and Sheila have previously collaborated on Common Salt, a show and tell about empire, nature and memory, and this new piece builds on their practice and performance work. As artists, our work is shaped by the journey we take as we create the work – through the research, conversations and exchange with people and materials along the way. Conceived as a sister piece to Common Salt, this new work builds on our practice and enquiry. Atmospheric Forces has been made through a series of week-long residencies in four locations: UAL Wimbledon College of Arts (School of Performance and CCW Research), Somerset Earth Sciences Centre, University of Reading’s Department of Film, Theatre & Television in partnership with South Street Arts and RADAR/LUArts in Loughborough.
