Join the SIN Inaugural Event, an exciting networking opportunity presented by the Sound & Image Network (SIN). SIN is a group at Bournemouth University that unites staff and students from the Faculty of Media and Science and Technology, who share a passion for collaboration and networking across disciplines. The event will take place on January 10th, 2024, from 4-6pm at the Poole Gateway Building (217) on the Talbot Campus in Poole, UK.
The event will kick off with a lecture led by Steve Rafter, Szilvia Ruszev, and Clive Radford, followed by a social gathering open to levels 5, 6, and 7 students at Dylans from 6-8pm. S.I.N. aims to explore the audio-visual relationship, encouraging creative thinking on how sound and images can be integrated into various media outlets. With activities led by both students and practicing staff, the group seeks to break down boundaries within and across faculties, fostering a holistic approach to the integration of sound and vision.
In addition to facilitating student networking, S.I.N. enhances the understanding of different production workflows, ultimately improving the employability and student experience at Bournemouth University. As part of this initiative, a network opportunity will be organized, centered around a competition brief. Submissions are due by midnight on January 26th, 2024, offering a 48/96 hour challenge.
