Get ready for the NYS 16-Hour Concealed Carry Course, a comprehensive training program required by NYS and NYC for your CCW pistol license. This New York City and New York State Certified course is designed to meet and exceed all minimum requirements and standards set by NYS, NYPD, Nassau PD, and Suffolk PD Licensing Divisions. It is open to residents and business owners in NYC, Long Island, and New York state. Led by an active duty police officer who is an FBI / NRA / NYS-DCJS Certified Firearms Instructor, this course covers a wide range of topics including New York State laws, firearm safety, safe handling, safe storage, safe transport, encountering law enforcement, self-defense, home defense, range safety, range etiquette, holster considerations, situational awareness, stress management, fundamentals of marksmanship, and more. The course is a combination of 16 hours of classroom sessions and a 2-hour live-fire session using trainer pistols and non-lethal training ammunition. The class is taught by Chief Instructor Dave Herman, from Five Elements Tactical Training. It takes place on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 2pm to 11pm, and Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 2pm to 11pm, at 672 Dogwood Avenue, Franklin Square, NY 11010. The cost of the course is $600, with a $100 registration fee due on the first day of class and the $500 balance payable in cash. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive two copies of a Certificate of Completion with a personalized serial number and raised seal. Please note that class size is limited, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A deposit is required to secure your spot, and it is non-refundable in the case of missed training. The course includes snacks, refreshments, and meals to keep you energized. It also includes the NYS CCW manual/handbook. The classroom sessions are complemented with a NYS-approved 2-hour live-fire session using trainer pistols and non-lethal training ammunition. The instructor, Dave Herman, Chief Instructor at Five Elements Tactical Training, is a certified law enforcement firearms instructor and provides one-on-one instruction. The course dates are Sunday January 21, 2024, and Sunday January 28, 2024, from 9am to 6pm. The certification course cost is $600, with a $100 registration fee and $500 balance payable in cash on the first day of class. Upon successful completion of the course, two copies of the Certificate of Completion will be issued, immediately evidencing your achievement.
