Join Amber from the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust on a 7 mile walk from the Ironbridge to explore the delights of Lloyd’s Coppice, with a brief stop to explore Madeley, before returning on the Silkin Way and taking in different sections of this wonderful woodland. Lloyd’s Coppice has been managed by the Trust since 1991 and aims to maintain the delicate balance of conservation of the landscape, wildlife, cultural significance and public access. Come along to learn more about this fascinating semi-natural ancient woodland. Grade of Walk: Moderate Length: 7 miles Pace: Steady Terrain: Mixed, with some long runs of steps and hilly terrain. Steps and Stiles: Yes Dog Friendly: YES Dogs to be kept on leads unless agreed with walk leader. Walk Leader: Amber Bicheno Specific Walk Information: Muddy/ possibly overgrown Essential Information for Walkers: All walks take place within the Ironbridge Gorge which will naturally include uphill and downhill sections. Please come prepared for the walk, with water, drinks, snacks and lunch as appropriate as it is not possible to purchase items on route. Good walking boots/shoes are essential and be prepared for wet or sunny weather- possibly both in the same day! Children ( Under 18’s ) are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult with parental responsibility and be capable of the distance, pace and duration of the walk. Please allow plenty of time to reach your event, parking can be tricky in the gorge! It is possible to reach Ironbridge via public transport but there are limited services. Medals are available for anyone completing 25,50,75 or 100 miles over 3 or more walks during the festival and if you complete over 150 miles you will receive our new Cartman Challenge medal – it has been done!!!.
