Note: This *FREE* event is to be attended in person ( Promo code : BRAVER). You will not need physical or virtual tickets in order to attend this event. In this polarized time, we lack basic understanding of why people on the other political side hold their beliefs. We don’t see them as they see themselves–their core values and central concerns–but instead as we choose to see them. We are tempted to regard our own side as principled and the other side as self-interested. When we try to communicate across this gap, we often lack the skills for listening carefully, looking for common ground, and sharing our perspectives in ways that connect rather than create more misunderstanding. We can learn to disagree better in polarized times, which means accurately seeing where we differ and where we share common ground. Goals More understanding of the values and concerns of people who differ from you politically Better skills for listening in a way so that the other person feels heard Better skills for sharing viewpoints in a way the other person might hear -- even if they disagree * Tickets are Free, Donations Help Use promo code BRAVER during registration to get a free ticket. Following a sold out 2022 tour, Jen is back on the road with her highly anticipated new show. "Furiously Funny” The Guardian “Her energy is explosive. Introduction Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Little Bean's bakery is here to help! In this class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). We’ll be enjoying our fall favorites for this cookie decorating class! Let’s learn the basics of sugar cookies with 6 cookies and 4 icings! You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, credits, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us. About this Class This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a set of 6 fall-themed to complete this set as we deep-dive into all things sugar cookies! We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate! This class is on September 25th and started at 7pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 22 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo! The class will be helped at Cafe CoCo & Bean in Beaconsfield located at 445 Beaconsfield Blvd, Beaconsfield, Québec H9W 4C2. Things to Bring Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience! · Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it). · Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone! · Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference. About Little Bean's Bakery Who doesn’t love getting out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? That’s what Little Bean's Bakery is all about! My name is Sabrina and I’ve been baking sugar cookies since 2023 – and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). My favorite cookie themes to decorate are kid's birthdays (parents come up such cute themes!), but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! I'm also a pediatric nurse, so I'm lucky enough to have the TWO best jobs in the world! Allergens Heads up – these cookies include the following common allergens: soy & gluten. If you put two and two together, you'll notice that means the cookies are vegan! Don't worry, you would never be able to tell! I'll also give you the secret to my egg-free royal icing. Please note, however, that my bakery is not certified allergen-free free so I cannot guarantee no traces of nuts, dairy, or egg. Please consider your allergies before registering. Class Cancelation Policy : You Cancel Before Class: You can get a full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before the event. After the 7-day refund policy, you will not be refunded, but you can always transfer the ticket to a friend! You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class: If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or a credit even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you’re feeling sick! Host Cancels: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund. Classes with attendance below 15 people will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either get a class credit for a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! Contact Me! Questions? I have answers! Reach out to me or check out some of my work on the following social media profiles (and hey, give me a like or follow, I’d love your support!). Don't Miss Gutalax! This Czech band brings a unique and irreverent approach to grindcore and goregrind, blending humor and high energy into their distinctive sound. Known for their unapologetically crude, satirical lyrics about fecal matter, Gutalax tackles the absurd and often vulgar in a way that’s as humorous as it is outrageous. Behind the humor, Gutalax showcases impressive technical skill, with music that’s both fast-paced and masterfully chaotic, along with their frontman Martin Matoušek’s unique ‘pig-like’ vocals they set themselves apart from the grindcore scene. Their live performances are nothing short of unforgettable, filled with colorful costumes, absurd props, and relentless energy, making every show a wild escape from the ordinary. This mix of technical precision and boundary-pushing humor has gained them an international fan base that appreciates both the rebellion and the community that Gutalax inspires. For those open to a taste of the unconventional, a Gutalax show is an experience not to be missed. Brought to you by Grindhead Productions this will be one hell of a boat party! Bristol Parent Carer Forum hosts coffee mornings from schools for parent carers of children and young adults that have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). There is no need to book but if you can, that is helpful. Please come along for a chat with our volunteers and other families who “get it”. We are happy to talk through any problems or issues you are facing over a nice cup of tea (or coffee!) and you can find out more information on what support is available locally for your child or a child you care for. If you need additional support to access this coffee morning such as support with English or other adjustments, please let us know. An important role of the Parent Carer Forum is to hear about the experiences of parent carers in Bristol. We would like to hear from you about your experiences with SEND services so that we can be sure that your voice is heard and that we can shape the future of SEND services together.
