Learn to create and perform comedy theatre on the spot. 6 Thursdays from 12th September - 17th October Learn the basics of Improvisation in a fun and supportive environment. This class is for those who are new to acting, stage performance, or comedy, or those that just want to try to build in creativity and confidence in to their personal or professional lives. Improvisation is the art of confidently creating performance sketches without a script. Improvisation skills are a must for anyone who is interested in becoming a more versatile stage performer, or in giving live performance a go for the first time. They're also a great aid to the everyday skills that we use in our personal and professional lives, whether we need confidence in social interactions, clarity in our motivations and goals, or a creative edge at work. Launching September 12th, Platform are organising a guided walking tour of selected creative spaces in East Belfast that are open for Late Night Art. The launch event will include artist / curator talks from galleries in East Belfast, complimentrary food and beverages, including pies from local business HeartyGrowers, and finish with chats and drinks in Boundary Taproom. Afrolatin Belfast are delighted to bring you one of the most famous Kizomba artists in the UK. Known for his electrifying and crazy energy. Kizomba workshop with Jeydikson and Elina. Jeydikson Lima is one of the most famous Kizomba artists in the UK. Born in Sao Tome, he moved to Portugal when he was 8 years old and before starting his dance career, played 3rd league for the Portuguese football team. At the age of 19, he found Kizomba and fell in love. It took him 5 years to learn how to dance Kizomba and his style was inspired by his master: Avelino Chantre. He moved to the UK in 2014 and decided to challenge himself and show off his style as well as skills. Therefore, he entered a competition in the UK where him and his dance partner at the time Sonny Varela were thrilled to obtain 1st Place in the UK which allow them to represent the UK in Africa Dancar (International competition) in 2015, where they achieved 3rd place. Now, Jeydikson Lima runs his own dance school “Kizomba Next Level” and travels nationally and internationally to dance, perform and teach his style of dance. As part of EHOD, HERoNI (Historic Environment Record of NI) archaeologists Bronagh Patricia Murray and Colin Dunlop will deliver this hands-on illustration workshop. A brief overview of the history of archaeological illustration will be presented, before participants are given access to a selection of replica and genuine artefacts, learning the methods used by archaeologists to create detailed illustrations. Templates will be provided on the day allowing each participant to complete their own illustrations using techniques learned during the workshop. 1 day MagicQ training course The MagicQ basic training course covers the use of all MagicQ products including our range of PC Wings and MagicQ consoles. The course covers starting new shows from scratch, layouts, patching, recording and editing cues, cue lists and chases, FX programming. The courses is suitable for all skill levels, but suited more to those starting out with MagicQ. Experienced users can pick up new tips and tricks. Set up for training is two people per console using ChamSys MagicVis for visualisation. Course Details Cost £41.67 (+ VAT £50) Includes- A MagicQ Basic DMX dongle, ChamSys USB key, training guide and lunch. The course runs from 10:00 to 16:00. If you book the basic AND the intermediate training under two consecutive days (2 days next to one another) then you'll receive a MagicDMX FULL dongle instead of the MagicDMX Basic (worth €85!) Terms and Conditions - You need to be aged 16 years or over to participate in the training. If you are aged under 16, then you need to contact us on the email below and have an adult (18 years +) attend the training with you. - Some basic lighting knowledge is required, such as understanding DMX, and universes.
