Don't wait until spring to experience the thrill of cycling! The Midlands Triathlon Academy presents an exciting opportunity to ride on the Leicester Cycle Circuit on 28/02/24. This safe and controlled environment provides a perfect training ground during the winter months, away from traffic and dirty roads. Riders will engage in a 90-minute group session on a purpose-built, floodlit 1km closed road circuit. The sessions are designed to challenge athletes both technically and physically, while ensuring their safety. Participants will be grouped according to their ability and exposed to various aspects of cycling, including group riding, cornering, and race scenarios. Coaches will take into consideration the individual training needs of the athletes and the sessions will not be overly competitive. These sessions aim to better prepare athletes for the upcoming season and provide them with a valuable opportunity to train together. Participants are required to bring a clean road bike in good working order, along with a helmet and gloves. It is essential to carry spare tubes, a pump, tire levers, and a minitool that fits the bike. Adequate clothing for the weather and session type is also necessary. Additionally, participants should bring enough food and drink for pre, during, and post-session, as well as for the journey back home. A kit bag with overshoes/toe covers, thicker gloves, and spare clothes is recommended. Remember that closed road circuits can be exposed to wind, so it's crucial to be prepared. The Midlands Triathlon Academy welcomes both affiliate and development squad athletes, as well as Midlands Triathlon series athletes.
