Description Want to keep fit, make new friends, and gain new skills in your spare time? Get a taste of life as a Royal Navy Reservist at our free Royal Naval Reserve Experience on 03/07/2025. Spaces are limited, so make sure you register your interest in plenty of time. Your HMS Hibernia Experience Day will be made up of, the Initial Maritime Reserves Presentation (IMRP) followed by an interactive Q&A session hosted by serving members of the RNR. They will provide details about entry requirements, the recruitment pipeline and share their own experiences of navigating the joining process. After this brief, the team will take you on a tour of HMS Hibernia, the home of the Royal Navy in Northern Ireland. As well as learning about the different branches and specialisations of the Royal Naval Reserve, you’ll get the chance to: • Learn more about the Royal Naval Reserve during a presentation led by the unit • Participate in damage control, firefighting, and seamanship practical activities • Handle the latest operational weapons There will be the opportunity to mingle with serving reservists and get your questions answered. What do you need to do? Once registered you will receive an email within 48 hours and will be required to provide your full name, date of birth and address in order to be registered with the Thiepval Barracks Security Lodge. If this information is not supplied access to the event will be denied. Please arrive no later than 1930hrs BST and ensure that you bring photographic ID, passport is preferred. Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Irish Artist Shirley Brown Camblin has been living full-time in her self-converted van with her cat Gingey for almost 4 years. On the 27th january Gingey went missing in Lisburn having got out in an unfamiliar area. Through the selfless work of a local volunteer Cat Rescue Lady Jackie Petrie Gingey was found and returned home on 19th March. "Whilst Gingey was missing it raised so much awareness for me around how many animals were missing in and around the local areas, and also highlighted the amount of work Jackie and her friends do to help reunite pets with their owners. I will be forever grateful and want to pay it forward and support this work, by raising some money to help purchase some much needed equiptment. During the sound healing experience Tessa will play a range of therapeutic sound instruments including Tibetan and crystal singing bowls for deep relaxation, the drum for grounding, percussion instruments such as shakers and rain sticks to waken up the body at the end of the session. Tessa will introduce you to the effects that different types of therapeutic sound and musical instruments can have on the body, when played with the intention of using sound for relaxation. After a sound healing experience individuals often describe their experience as one of feeling bathed in sound, or a feeling of sound washing over them. All that is expected from you, is that you come along to relax and enjoy the experience. How to prepare: Please bring a yoga mat if you have one (If you don't have one Tessa will have some spare mats) Bring a pillow and blanket and bottle of water to keep beside you during the session. Wear comfortable clothing. Health conditions: Please advise if you have any health conditions or mobility challenges we should be aware of in advance of the session.
