Join the Wende Museum and the Future IDs Art & Justice Leadership Cohort for "our skin, our hearts, our connection: an interactive program" at the Wende Museum in Culver City. This event, featuring esteemed speakers such as Dr. Luis Garcia, Lily Gonzalez, Dr. Martha Escobar, Kirn Kim, Phillip “Rock” Lester, Emiliano Lopez, Gregory Sale, Saúl Sarabia, Yolanda Wade, and others, aims to cultivate advocates and allies in the field of justice. Through socially engaged art practice, attendees will explore how this innovative approach can enhance their leadership skills and drive meaningful social change.
The centerpiece of the program is a series of three ten-minute conversations between Cohort members and influential figures who have played a pivotal role in shaping their projects and programs. These conversations will delve into topics such as overcoming adversity, challenging systemic inequalities, and building alliances. After each conversation, participants will have the opportunity to engage in a facilitated activity inspired by the discussion.
To conclude the event, there will be a dance party, fostering connections and celebrating the power of unity. This program is part of the Future IDs Art & Justice Leadership Cohort, an ongoing initiative of the Future IDs Project. Led by Gregory Sale, Dr. Luis Garcia, and Emiliano Lopez, this platform empowers individuals to collaborate on projects that challenge power structures, address racial injustice, and promote communal healing. Don't miss this unique opportunity to engage with art and justice in a transformative way.
