M/Others Who Make is a global movement that aims to empower and support women and non-binary individuals who are passionate about both creating and caring. In these creative sessions hosted by local Boscombe and Southbourne-based mother-artists Emilie Giles and Corrianna Clarke, participants will have the opportunity to learn and make together. Each session will focus on a new and simple creative project, guided by a mother. The events are designed to be adult-centered, but children are welcome to attend and take part. No prior experience is required, and women at any stage of their creative journey or career are encouraged to join. All necessary materials, along with guidance, tea, toast, and play space for little ones, will be provided. M/Others Who Make events are inclusive of women, people who birth, and non-binary individuals who are mothers, parents, or caregivers. Artists from all disciplines and interests are invited to join, whether their creative identity is a profession, a passion, or currently dormant. Children are not only welcome but also integrated into the meetings, as the dual roles of mother and artist are equally valued and recognized within the MWM community.
The upcoming in-person event will take place at The Old School House Boscombe, located at Gladstone Road East, Boscombe, Bournemouth, UK. The venue is step-free and accessible. M/Others Who Make embraces principles that celebrate care and creativity, support connection through peer interaction, and foster an inclusive and welcoming community. The initiative aims to empower women and non-binary individuals to thrive in their creative paths while nurturing their caregiving roles. Through peer support, mentorship, events, work sharing, and creative opportunities, M/Others Who Make strives to enrich the community. Join M/Others Who Make and become part of a community that values care, cultivates creativity, and fosters connections. (Photographs by Alexandra Szigeti)
