The 6th Annual Fort Mardi Gras Fun 5k Run/Walk & Fest will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at Ferry Park in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This family-friendly event starts at 10 am and features Mardi Gras festivities until 3 pm. The 5k run/walk is a part of the Fort Mardi Gras tradition, presented by the John Cain Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting active minds and uplifting young adults, their families, and peers. The focus of this event is on mental health awareness, a critical issue that often goes unaddressed or ignored in our communities. By promoting proper exercise, creating healthy minds, coordinating wellness, and encouraging mental stability, this event aims to prevent mental health issues. Participants of the 5k will receive a custom Mardi Gras medal, and there will be vendors, face painting, gumbo, music, and Mardi Gras beads available for all to enjoy.
