Allow us to acquaint you with Jaclyn Desforges, a remarkable author who is both queer and neurodivergent. She has been recognized for her exceptional works, including "Danger Flower" (Palimpsest Press/Anstruther Books), which earned her the prestigious 2022 Hamilton Literary Award for Poetry and was listed among CBC's best Canadian poetry of 2021. Jaclyn has also crafted "Why Are You So Quiet?" (Annick Press, 2020), a captivating piece that was shortlisted for a Chocolate Lily Award and chosen for the 2023 TD Summer Reading Club.
Jaclyn's talent has garnered recognition, including a nomination for the esteemed Pushcart Prize, the recipient of the 2022 City of Hamilton Creator Award, the 2020 Hamilton Emerging Artist Award for Writing, two 2019 Short Works Prizes, and the 2018 RBC/PEN Canada New Voices Award. Her exceptional writing has been showcased in esteemed literary magazines throughout Canada. Jaclyn holds an impressive MFA from the renowned University of British Columbia's School of Creative Writing and resides in Hamilton with her partner and daughter.
