Participants of the Affairs of the Heart: Stand-Up Comedy and Storytelling Workshop will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of writing and performing a short comedy set or engaging humorous story for the stage. This workshop welcomes individuals from all walks of life, whether they are recently single, happily divorced, or even sharing a Netflix account with their ex. Led by the talented and award-winning comedian Mina Hartong, known for her performances at renowned venues such as Joe's Pub, Olivia Travel, and Lincoln Center Director's Lab, participants will gain valuable insights on crafting a compelling stand-up set or narrative to be shared during our student showcase on Sunday, February 11th at 1PM. Through this workshop, attendees will explore the art of flow, exposition, audience interaction, and joke structure, all while focusing on the amusing aspects of love life challenges. No prior experience is necessary, and individuals of all ages are encouraged to share their intergenerational stories. For those who have always dreamed of trying their hand at comedy, consider this workshop as a meaningful Valentine's present to oneself. Participants should come prepared to share a 1-2 minute personal story, one that they have recounted numerous times and can easily recall. Additionally, all students will receive a complimentary ticket to Mina Hartong's show on Saturday, February 10th at 7:30PM. Please note that this workshop has a maximum capacity of 10 students. The cost to participate is $100, and the event will take place from 1-5PM. As parking is limited at the venue, attendees are advised to utilize the three public parking lots in Town, which are conveniently located across from the Post Office, behind Berkshire Bank, and just off Main Street.
