It was an Observer book of the year. In 2019, the novel was adapted for stage, and received widespread critical acclaim. In 2022, her account of the controversial Irish/Algerian punk band, Fat White Family, was published by White Rabbit. Ten Thousand Apologies tells the band’s story in an innovative novelistic method. It was a Sunday Times bestseller, and a Rough Trade book of the year. The biography was shortlisted for the prestigious Penderyn Music Book Prize. Adelle Stripe holds a PhD by Research in creative writing and is a Burgess Fellow at the University of Manchester. As a journalist, she has written for The Quietus, Yorkshire Post, New Statesman and many more. Adelle Stripe said: ‘I have been held to ransom by these stories for many years. Some have appeared in poetic form, others as flash fiction, or chapters in anthologies. It is a culmination of almost two decades of chiselling at the literary coalface. The British Library at Boston Spa is expanding its capacity, as the national collection grows. Every year three million new items are added to the archive, as it receives a copy of every publication produced in the UK and Ireland. More space is required to house the, year on year increase of 12kms of shelving. To that end, the Boston Spa Renewed programme seeks to increase the archives capacity and services, by transforming the campus and becoming ‘the most sustainable archive in the world’. The scheme involves the construction of a new 28m high, 5274m2 ground-breaking, fully automated net zero carbon archive building, which will feature a public viewing gallery and 220km of extra shelf space. Nothing like this archive has been built in the UK before, where the environment is completely airtight, and when complete, a fully automated racking and robotics system will be used to retrieve documents. Sustainability will be an integral feature of this ambitious programme, including the creation of new and improved green spaces to support biodiversity and enhance the natural environment surrounding the site. Wates, one of UK’s leading family-owned development, building and property maintenance companies, is the appointed contractor and has been working closely with the team on site in Boston Spa to deliver this ground breaking project. MOOR LAUGHS COMEDY CLUB IS delighted to welcome back for his fourth vist in 8 years our good friend and your good friend ANGELOS EPITHEMIOU:The creation of DAN RENTON SKINNER – a member of the Dutch Elm Conservatoire sketch group – ANGELOS EPITHEMIOU is the owner of a burger van who wants to break into show business. He got his break in 2009, when he became a permanent team member on the revival of VIC REEVES and BOB MORTIMER’S SHOOTING STARS, replacing Johnny Vegas on Ulrika Jonsson’s Team B, before becoming the scorer. Angelos was nominated for the breakthrough award and best sketch or character act at the 2010 Chortle awards. In 2012 he starred in his own Channel 4 series. Since then he has spoken in debates at the OXFORD UNION, entertained the troops in Afghanistan (alongside people like LENNY HENRY, JIM DAVIDSON ....and even some comedians) and been on sell out tours up and down the UK. He is very much in demand as a headline act in the nation's biggest and most popular comedy clubs. As usual with a Moor Laughs Comedy Club night there will be a strong supporting undercard of two established comedians, Angelos and the supporting comedians will be introduced by your compere ROBSON STROUD who has managed comedy nights in Ilkley, Leeds, London and Manchester on and off for 25 years and is mentored by cult comedy legend CHARLIE CHUCK aka REEVES AND MORTIMER'S UNCLE PETER.
