Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects
: Sudbury, an opportunity for nonprofits, charities, and community organizations across the region to connect, deepen relationships, and discuss big-picture issues with a local lens to work together for a thriving nonprofit environment.
We cannot address complex issues alone or in silos. Coming together builds our resilience and relationships; and the impact on our people is the guiding light. Learn what's going on in your community and with your colleagues, share your own experiences, and draw connections to what's going on in different regions across Ontario. Let's recognize and celebrate just how much the Sudbury region is nonprofit-driven.
What to expect:
Get practical data, information about policies and trends impacting nonprofits in Sudbury and across Ontario, and resources that you can use right away.
Make connections over the issues that matter to you - learn from local experts and the ONN policy team, and have conversations about what's happening in your own communities.
An opportunity to learn about and actively contribute to the development of a
Care Policy Scorecard specific to Ontario
, a practical tool to measure and track government progress and commitments on policies that have a direct impact on unpaid and paid care.
Contribute to a collaborative zine project: a nonprofit-driven resource about the nonprofit difference!
Enjoy breakfast and lunch with nonprofit colleagues.
After the event, all registrants will receive slides, notes, and links to resources.
Topics and speakers will be announced as they are confirmed.
Who should attend:
This event is open to all nonprofit workers and volunteers across different roles.

An Evening with Tessa and Petr feat ALEKSI CAMPAGNE & ROSE-ERIN STOKES | Sudbury Theatre Centre
Jan 25, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Sudbury
Welcome to An Evening with Tessa and Petr feat ALEKSI CAMPAGNE & ROSE-ERIN STOKES! Join us for a night of enchanting music and captivating performances. Get ready to be mesmerized by the talented ALEKSI CAMPAGNE and ROSE-ERIN STOKES as they take the stage with Tessa and Petr. Aleksi Campagne is uniquely qualified to offer a contemporary, indie-folk take on the time-honoured fiddle-singing tradition. Aleksi grew up on stage. At five years old, he began performing alongside his mother, Canadian folk icon, Connie Kaldor. At nineteen, Aleksi moved to Paris to study under Jazz-violin legend Didier Lockwood. At twenty-one, Aleksi became the only student to have ever been accepted into the classical violin, the jazz violin and the jazz voice performance programs at McGill University. And, by twenty-five, with only a six-song EP, Aleksi graced the lineups of some of the most competitive folk festivals across Canada for three consecutive years - including the Regina, Canmore, and Bear Creek Folk Festivals. Most recently, Aleksi received both a Canada Council Grant and a FACTOR Grant to fully fund the recording and production of his highly-anticipated 10-song debut album For the Giving, launching fall 2023. Still based out of his hometown of Montreal, Aleksi floors audiences by singing while bowing his violin and seamlessly navigating songs in English and in French. His original music blends folk songwriting with an edgy, multi-layered sound resulting from his unique combination of voice, violin, and looping- effect pedals. “The dreamy orchestration and floaty vocals of ‘Another Day’ provide a silken sensory camouflage to Aleksi’s profound mastery of story-telling, letting the listener inside the heart of the singer with wordplay, imagery, pensive pauses and a thrillingly casual whistle solo.” -Paul Corby, Roots Music Canada https://www.aleksicampagne.com/ ROSE-ERIN STOKES Highlighted by an artistic acumen and an amazing ability to evoke emotion, Stokes' music is demonstrative of a songwriting craftsperson at work, with music, words, and vocal performances that connect to the hearts and spirits of all who hear them. What is undeniable is the deeply honest approach to her musical storytelling, a wide-open emotional tableau that is representative of the silence of the vast forests, and big open skies of the northern Ontario city of North Bay where Stokes was born and raised. Stokes is a five-time Northern Ontario Music and Film Award nominee. Her Sophomore LP ‘When The Sun Goes Away’ earned her a nomination for Album of the Year at the Ontario Folk Music Awards. Described by Canadian Beats, “When The Sun Goes Away takes listeners on an emotional journey, weaving a tapestry of relatable themes and musical diversity…a collection of songs that together create a compelling and memorable musical experience.”
