Join us at the Iconic Images Gallery Piccadilly for an evening of discussion and Q&A with Michael Arnold, the grandson of groundbreaking photojournalist Eve Arnold and custodian of her estate. Eve Arnold, the first woman photographer to become a full time member of Magnum Photos, enjoyed a long and varied career that covered subjects from Marilyn Monroe and Marlene Dietrich to American civil rights and the lives of peasant farmers in communist China. In conversation with Iconic Images Creative Director Carrie Kania, Michael Arnold will discuss his experience of maintaining and honouring an estate of great social, cultural and artistic significance, including his experiences working with Eve, the process of curation, the production of fine-art prints, book publishing and the management of intellectual property rights. Event description:Don’t miss this chance to hear the Laurier Symphony Orchestra, a group of gifted Laurier students who will delight you with their music at this upcoming concert. About the Ensemble:Jerzy Kaplanek, Director William Rowson, Conductor This ensemble’s repertoire is representative of works from the major symphonic repertoire, opera, oratorio, and contemporary compositions. Winners of the Laurier Concerto Competition perform with the orchestra throughout the year. Members of the ensemble may also play as part of the annual Laurier Opera production.
