The highly anticipated Hockey- MEMBERS ONLY- Y5/6 tournament is set to take place at the prestigious Hawkenbury Recreation Ground in Royal Tunbridge Wells on March 7, 2024. This thrilling event is exclusively for Year 5 and 6 students who are members of the participating teams. The tournament follows a unique format, with each squad consisting of eight players, including four boys and four girls. Out of the eight players, six are outfield players, with three boys and three girls, and two are substitutes. To ensure fair play, all players must rotate with two players on the bench at the end of each playing period, following the pattern of Defence-Midfield-Forward-Substitute. The game is played in three periods of a maximum of five minutes each, with a one-minute change interval between each session. It is essential for all players to wear shinpads, and it is strongly recommended that mouthguards be worn by all outfield players at all times. Suitable footwear is a must, and it is advised not to wear smooth soled trainers or football boots. Sticks should be standard regulation wooden hockey sticks of suitable length, with a flat face side and a rounded side. A full-size astroturf pitch will be available, and a maximum of four Mini Hockey pitches will be placed on one pitch.
