Oaklands Wolves Rugby Academy Trial Day | Oaklands College St Albans
Sports & Fitness
Rugby
The Wolves Academy at Oaklands College offers a unique opportunity for students aged 16 to 18 who are passionate about rugby. In partnership with Saracens Rugby Club since 2006, Oaklands College provides a supportive environment where young rugby players can receive a top-notch education while honing their skills in the sport. By joining the Wolves Academy, students gain a platform to grow and potentially progress to the professional game, club rugby, university, and beyond.
To give prospective applicants a taste of what life at the college entails, the Academy organizes a taster day divided into two parts. During the first part, participants get to experience a typical day at the college, participating in skills, gym, and video analysis sessions. Parents are invited to watch the skills session, followed by a brief presentation while the prospective students continue with their taster sessions. The second part of the day involves a short trial to assess the playing ability of attendees. While the Academy does not expect international-level players, a certain level of competence within core skills, such as passing, catching, running, and tackling, alongside a reasonable level of physical fitness and a drive to improve, is expected.
If this opportunity resonates with you, make sure to register now for the Oaklands Wolves Rugby Academy Trial Day taking place at the St. Albans campus on Saturday, April 27, 2024. However, if you are unable to attend, register your interest to receive updates on future events. We look forward to welcoming you to Oaklands College!
