Led by a skilled SUP instructor, mindfulness expert, blue health coach, and nature facilitator, these social paddles offer a unique blend of outdoor adventure and mindful nature interaction. Join a small group of enthusiasts for an afternoon of paddling and camaraderie in the serene waters of Surrey and Sussex, with convenient lifts available from Shoreham Train Station. Whether you're a novice or an experienced paddler, all are welcome to participate in this rejuvenating experience. The upcoming event on October 20, 2024, will take place at the picturesque venue of Shoreham-by-Sea Railway Station Car Park in Shoreham-by-Sea. Please note that participants must be capable of standing or kneeling for the duration of the paddle, with the ability to self-rescue if needed. Safety equipment including a waist leash and buoyancy aid is mandatory for all paddlers, and equipment rentals are available for those in need. Be prepared for a dynamic outdoor activity, as event timings and locations are subject to change based on weather conditions and group dynamics. Hooray it's another Kollab, another cozy and creative evening on the gorgeous Verda. Delighted to have Babyleanor singing for us with her heavenly voice and Dirty Scavenger bringing her fierce and soulful sound. As usual there's plenty of slots available in the Open Mic, all forms of creativity welcome - poems, stories, songs, comedy, dance... or surprise us! Vocally Eleanor draws Influence from the likes of Julie London and Ella Fitzgerald, while lyrically and melodically taking inspiration from Moonchild, Anderson Pak, Eryka Badu and Amy Winehouse. Her Debut 4-track, all original EP ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk’ boasts an impressive understanding of her genre & song-craft, as heard in ‘Complicated Love’, a ballad to finding identity in the 21st century, and her single ‘Lunar’ which was adopted by Costa Coffee for a summer campaign in 2022 as-well as airtime on BBC Introducing (Sussex & Surrey). DIRTY SCAVENGER Dirty Scavenger aka Jo Maultby is a well known and loved face on the Sussex music scene. She returns to Kollab with her 90s style melodic post grunge set, with vocals and guitar playing you won't forget in a hurry. As we approach All Hallows' Eve, join us for a creepy collage session. 6.30pm-8.30pm // All materials supplied // 10% discount for IW members What will you find lurking in the paper pile? Where will inspiration spring out from? Come along and collage with us to find out! And to help get the creative cogs turning, here is an extract from a poem by H.P. Lovecraft. Very fitting, we think... The place was dark and dusty and half-lost In tangles of old alleys near the quays, Reeking of strange things brought in from the seas, And with queer curls of fog that west winds tossed … I entered, charmed, and from a cobwebbed heap Took up the nearest tome and thumbed it through, Trembling at curious words that seemed to keep Some secret, monstrous if one only knew. Then, looking for some seller old in craft, I could find nothing but a voice that laughed. The venue: This night takes place at The Circular Space – home of The Scrap Space. Any Swig & Weave regular will know how much we love this community hub. Their aim to bring joy to the community while looking after the planet – something we very much support! You can find them on Ham Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, BN43 6PA (look for the blue sign by the bus stop next to the Police Station). What to expect: Collaging is super straightforward, giving you the time and space to simply get creative and have fun. The theme is there to give you a creative challenge, and we'll on on hand with ideas if you need them. There'll also be hot drinks and sweet treats for you to enjoy. What you need to bring: Nothing! We'll supply everything you need, plus you'll have the opportunity to rummage in The Scrap Space. However, feel free to bring along bits and pieces from home if you want to us something specfic.
