Brampton Arts Organization (BAO)'s Newcomer Creative Exchange program is for newcomer artists, creatives, or cultural workers looking to continue their arts and culture careers in Canada. The program creates a space for these Brampton-based newcomers to gather, network, create, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment. For our fifth Newcomer Creative Exchange session, we will be taking a tour through Bovaird House and documenting our experience through photography. Bovaird House is one of Brampton's most prominent historical home. Built in 1852, the classic farmhouse is now a museum, dedicated to showcasing Brampton’s history. Beginning in the early 1990s, the museum was developed by ‘Friends of Historic Bovaird House’ a group of volunteers who maintain and operate the museum. Following the tour, we will take part in a photography workshop with Brampton-based photographer, Herman Custodio. Participants are encouraged to bring their own camera, phone or tablet to use during the workshop. This session and all Newcomer Creative Exchange sessions are free for Brampton residents.
