This year's holiday show - Heaven's Song: A Unique, Musical Show with a Christmas Flair is THR!VE's fifth independent show - and its first at the beautiful Bella Rose Arts Centre! Voices of THR!VE: A Show Choir for Girls is the musical outgrowth of the THR!VE heartbeat. A unique show choir for girls in grades 5-12, Voices performs a mixture of Christian and mainstream inspirational music, and welcomes girls from all walks of life—we are, in fact, known for our beautiful diversity. Our impactful presentations, which take place throughout the year all over HRM, have a distinct musical theatre flair. Shows include a wide range of creative and colorful singing, choreography and dramatic narrative elements as well as special dance and instrumental features—all complemented by beautiful set staging and artistic multimedia. Wendy Birt, THR!VE creator and choir director, is a certified elementary school teacher and lifelong vocal soloist and public speaker with a passion for interdisciplinary arts. This class will help students explore the intricate world of paper quilling, an ancient crafting technique that has been appreciated by cultures across the globe for centuries. We will cover basic paper quilling techniques and shapes via a hands-on paper art project. A slotted quilling tool will be used to make tight and loose paper coils. These coils will be manipulated into more complex shapes and glued together to create a beautifully intricate paper snowflake that students will bring home with them after the class. All tools and materials will be provided by the instructor, but feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer to work with them. While not required, I highly recommend reviewing the following videos before class in order to help you pick up on the techniques demonstrated during class more quickly. 🎨 Sip & Paint: Your Own Pet Portrait 🐾 OVERVIEW: You have two options for participating: OPTION 1: Attend the Art Workshop OPTION 2: I Paint Your Pet for You OPTION 1: Art Workshop Participation WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: • please Send a Photo of Your Pet: Please email me a photo of your pet’s face and part of their neck within 3 hours of booking to ensure enough time for preparation. • Important: Avoid sending full-body images; I need a clear picture of your pet’s face and neck only. • The photo will be used to create a draft silhouette, provided as a starting point during the workshop. • Timing is Key: All pet silhouettes must be completed 24 hours before the event, so submitting your photo on time is essential. • Focus on the Essence: This workshop emphasizes capturing the essence of your pet in an abstract expressionist style rather than realistic details. • Duration: 3 hours • Provided Materials: Canvas (30x40 cm), paints, brushes, and all necessary supplies • Style: Abstract expressionist (not realistic artwork) • Extras: Complimentary glass of wine and snacks • Parking: Street parking available, or park at the back of the location. • What to Bring: Comfortable clothing suitable for painting.
