In this creative crash course spread over two days (September 27th and September 28th 2025, 10 - 12 pm), you will explore different ways of starting a drawing, the essentials of drawing features of the face and the importance of light and shadow, taking your cue from a clothed artists' model. The course, run in partnership with the Crystal Palace Artists' Open House, is designed to be friendly, welcoming, and informal, with tuition by award-winning artist Jonny Kemp, who appeared on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2023. En route to completing at long portrait at the end of both sessions, you will learn how to: Use guidelines to get the correct angles and measurementsSculpt features by looking at the planes of the faceUse tone/lights and darks to create formBreak down eyes, nose and mouth into simpler shapesDrawing materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own. Walking into the church, as if through time and space, is the holy place of the crowning of the British royal family, witnessing countless important moments in history. It is also a resting place for many celebrities, and great figures such as Newton, Darwin, Dickens have slept here, making people respect their contributions. Walking around, you can feel the solemnity of religion and the deep historical and cultural heritage. The church&#39;s Henry VII chapel is exquisite, with a fan-shaped arched roof and densely carved decorations, like a fairy tale fairyland.
