D’Lan Contemporary presents The Hicks Collection: EMILY KAM KNGWARRAY, an extraordinary private collection of eleven significant paintings by Australia's most celebrated contemporary artist.

For the 2024 Great Hall Commission, Taiwanese artist Tong Yang-Tze (born 1942, Shanghai, based in Taipei) has created two monumental works of Chinese calligraphy for the Museum’s historic space. Her project is the third in the series of commissions for The Met’s Great Hall and the artist’s first major project in the United States.

Berry Campbell presents its second solo exhibition of work by Nanette Carter (b. 1954). Nanette Carter: Simply Semiotics is comprised of 24 recent collages that respond to the fraught political, social, and cultural issues of the 21st century. Drawing on influences ranging from African American quilt-making to jazz to Abstract Expressionism, Nanette Carter constructs an intricate and unique visual symphony using Mylar and oil. The exhibition will be accompanied by a 20-page, fully illustrated catalogue with an essay by Jason Stopa.

Leon Tovar Gallery presents a solo exhibition of artist Marcelo Bonevardi. His work showcases a unique approach to Minimalism, Geometric Abstraction, and Constructivism, transforming these influences into complex “constructions” crafted from diverse materials. Katherine van Dell is a jewelry specialist and Gemological Institute of America graduate gemologist. Katherine is Director of Jewelry for Heritage and Co-Director of Heritage’s Palm Beach office. She began her career in Philadelphia at Freeman’s. She later joined Rago Auctions and was instrumental in departmental growth as head of the jewelry department. Katherine then joined Doyle as a Vice President and jewelry specialist based out of Palm Beach, Florida. As a specialist, Katherine is constantly informed by her understanding of basic construction, aesthetics, and historical context. A graduate of the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Katherine studied metalwork, bench craft and art history in her undergraduate studies and later obtained her graduate gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America. This exhibition features a selection of artwork by teens from across the United States who received the highest national recognition in the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: the Gold and Silver Portfolio Award, The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon, the New York Life Award, and the Gold Medal Award. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the United States. Established in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards bring the work of young people to regional and national audiences. Former recipients include artists Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly, Kay WalkingStick, and John Baldessari—all represented in The Met collection—and writers Stephen King, Amanda Gorman, and Joyce Carol Oates.

Using her devout meditation practice as a site of departure for the series, Fensterstock considered how the ritual of making a mandala—a sacred visual symbol of the universe—could be translated into the act of ornamenting a mosaic. Exacting and elaborate, these artworks are reliquaries of cosmic vibration that invite her audience to take a moment of pause—encouraging us to observe our particular place in an interconnected whole. Lauren Fensterstock is an artist living and working in Portland, Maine. Fensterstock received her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 1997 and her MFA from SUNY New Paltz in 2000.
