We’ll focus on developing skills: placing gear, using natural anchors and tying to belays, setting up your own top ropes, building your own belays on multi pitch routes, placing gear on second and more traditional static sessions. If you’re feeling confident, then our aim is to put you on the sharp end. This will be with an instructor on a rope close at hand, to help you along the way. • Gear Placements & Rope Management • Building Belays • Leading with an Instructor Supervising Throughout the course common problems that occur will be addressed both on safety and following routes. We will also introduce you to basic rescues and common problems at the crag. There is also opportunity for people to take on more instructor roles. This means any level is welcome. The Outdoor Partnerhip Trainee Taster Session: White Water Kayaking Course - When: 7th Friday March, Meeting at 09:00am - returning to centre at 17:00pm - Where: Arete Outdoor Centre, Llanrug, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 4AP, North Wales - Additionally: We can provide all the relevant kit for each course and minibus transport from Arete Outdoor Centre. - Spaces available: 4-6 people - About Info: (Induction, Intermediate, and Advanced levels) However, you must be very confident in your paddle skills on still water and strong swimming ability. If you want to experience the thrill and excitement of kayaking down white water rapids then this is the course for you. We individualise our coaching so you maximise your experience and develop quickly. Fun rapids, jets and drops provide a constantly interesting experience. · Safe & fun rapids · Controlling the boat in moving water · Grade II+ water provides interesting water · White water safety awareness If you can already control the boat on flat water then we can use these existing skills and applying them to the river environment. Don’t worry if you haven’t got flat water experience, we will plan in a skills session first so you are ready for the introductory rapids.
