This class is open to both club members and qualified individuals who are not members of the club. By participating in this course, individuals will learn the essential duties and responsibilities of a Range Safety Officer, including range Standard Operating Procedures, safety briefings, emergency procedures, and firearm stoppage and malfunction handling. It is important to note that simply attending the class does not guarantee passing the course. In order to successfully complete the course, participants must actively engage in the entire class and score 90% or above on the written examination. Additionally, students must demonstrate the expected knowledge, skills, and attitude outlined in the NRA national curriculum. When attending the class, participants should come prepared with appropriate range clothing, pens, pencils, and paper for note-taking and form filling, as well as a packed lunch. Although there is no live fire during the class, it is recommended to bring hearing protection in case the range is being used by others. To receive credit for the course, participants' information, including name, address, phone number, email address, NRA membership number, date of birth, and gender, will be reported to the NRA. Therefore, it is important to register with the same name, address, and date of birth as listed on the NRA's records. Refunds are available if requested before the start of the class.
